Side approach mechanism are used for testing components (e.g. RJ45 Ethernet, USB, RF Connectors, ...) where lateral contacting in the form of a horizontally guided stroke action is necessary.

The compact and robust design of our side approach mechanism SAM-H7-16-150N-020-060 enables lateral contacting with a contacting force of up to 150 N (539.54 oz) in compact space. The activation is carried out stoke-controlled due to the conversion of the vertical stroke action of the test fixture (activation stroke) into a horizontally guided stroke action of the stroke bar of the side approach mechanism (contacting stroke). The max. contacting stroke is designed for 16 mm (.630”) with an activation stroke of 7 mm (.276”). The side approach mechanism can easily be assembled on the PCB mounting plate through the M4-thread and precisely positioned by means of the cylindrical pins. Because of the stable and maintenance-free precision guide more than 300,000 contact strokes can be achieved.
